28 Apr Don’t Lose Your Leads!
Network (net-werk). Verb. Defined as “interacting with other people to exchange information and develop contacts, especially to further one’s career.” Whether you know it or not, you network every day – with your co-workers, your boss, your parents, the grocery store cashier, the pharmacist. The list goes on and on…and on. These interactions might not seem like much, but when you’re a business owner they can be everything.
When you reach out and make an effort to talk to people, you just might realize that they could become potential customers. All of these networking contacts can turn into leads, which can lead to customers – which leads to sales. The most important thing you can do with all of this networking information is to keep a consistent, clean, up-to-date list so you never miss a chance to keep up and connect with everyone you’ve worked so hard to know.
Does your business have a Facebook page or Twitter account? Are you on LinkedIn? Social media is a great way to meet new contacts. If you’re using Quickbooks or other invoicing software, this is a super way to maintain a solid customer list. And if you simply make it a habit to get a business card from everyone you meet, you can easily build a simple Excel spreadsheet to house names, phone numbers and email addresses.
Keeping your contacts organized can help you:
- Send email blasts quickly and easily
- Personally reach out for new business
- Plan a social media campaign for target demographics
…and so much more. Your business plan is only one aspect of running a great company. Keep your customers organized and happy! Need help getting started? Submit a service request today.
